As an incorporated not-for-profit association, Psychomotor PBSP Australia is dedicated to supporting therapists in deepening their understanding of attachment, trauma, and early relational experience.
We offer high-quality, accessible training in Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP)—a structured, body-based approach that supports meaningful and lasting therapeutic change.
What is PBSP ?
Psychomotor PBSP Australia
Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP) is a body-based, trauma-informed therapeutic approach developed by Albert Pesso and Diane Boyden-Pesso. While it is widely known as PBSP internationally, it is often referred to as Psychomotor within Australia.
It is based on the understanding that many emotional and relational challenges arise from unmet developmental needs in early life—particularly in the areas of safety, nurturance, protection, support, and appropriate limits.
Rather than focusing only on insight, PBSP uses carefully structured experiential processes to support clients to:
Access and process implicit, body-held memory
Experience corrective relational “antidotes” to earlier deficits
Develop new internal patterns for safety, connection, and self-worth
This approach sits at the intersection of attachment theory, neuroscience, and experiential trauma work, offering a precise yet deeply respectful way of supporting lasting psychological and emotional change.
